Weddings

The Old Finsbury Town Hall is an inspiring, stunning and unique venue that will bring glamour and prestige to your wedding or civil ceremony celebration. Guests will sweep up the ornate staircase and be welcomed with drinks on the beautiful First Floor, its high ceilings and Art Nouveau details giving a feeling of grandeur and sense of occasion.

This versatile space is capable of hosting seated dinner-dances with beautifully set dining tables and attentive waiting staff, or alternatively, it can host standing receptions with cocktails, canapés and live food stations for your guests to enjoy, with dancing later in the evening. The venue is totally flexible and adaptable to your requirements.

We are able to offer a comprehensive wedding package with our partners as well as a dry hire option. If you have a particular date in mind, we recommend that you contact the office as soon as possible to check availability.

Great Hall

72ft x 42ft (22m x 12.8m) 200 standing / banqueting

Situated on the first floor the Great Hall is the largest space in the building and is the biggest achievement of the talented architect Charles Evans-Vaughn. This ornate room is a work of art in its own right, characterised by its beautiful ornate art nouveau décor which boasts Baroque influenced angels framing the perimeters of hall.

There is a small stage that can be used for the head table for the bride and groom and their immediate family, band or musical performances, DJ or to host projector screens along with other audio visual equipment in accordance with your requirements.

The sumptuous proportions can accommodate seating and dinner dance arrangements for up to 200 guests. Please note the capacity of the first floor is 225 people, including staff.

Council Chamber

47ft x 28ft (14.3m x 8.5m) 100 standing 60 banqueting

This elegant, mahogany paneled room is adjacent to the Great Hall with access from two staircases. This room is suitable for receptions and formal greeting parties.

This wooden paneled room has a domed ceiling and is complemented with white pillars, stained glass windows and is adorned with delicate lighting. The overall capacity is 100 guests seated theatre style or for stand up reception. You can expect to accommodate 60 guests for a sit down meal. This room can also work very well as buffet/bar or a chill/break out room during your reception.
